Allow us to introduce a smoothie with a difference. The berry blast smoothie.


The berry blast as the name implies is made with berries, and more than one type, so you can bet that this smoothie would be as delicious as it is nutritious.


Berries are powerful superfoods that are rich in anti-oxidants.


What are anti-oxidants you may ask,


Antioxidants are "free radical scavengers" i.e they prevent and repair damage done by free radicals. 


Basically, anti-oxidants are very, very good for you.

The berry blast is so good for you could have it as breakfast, lunch and dinner. 


We wouldn't normally recommend smoothies for dinner, but this is an exception.

3 Healthy Berry Blast Smoothie Recipes

BERRY BLAST 1

Ingredients

1. 3 cups mixed frozen berries (raspberries, blueberries, blackberries)

2. 1 cup fresh strawberries (sliced)

3. 1 cup light vanilla yogurt

4. 1 Tablespoon sugar

5. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

6. 1 1/2 cups orange juice


How to Make It

- Add all of the ingredients into a blender. 

- Close the lid and blend until well combined. 

- Pour into glasses and enjoy. 


(If you like a thicker smoothie just use less juice.)

BERRY BLAST 2


Ingredients

1. 1 cup (250 ml) unsweetened almond breeze almond milk

2. 1 cup halved strawberries

3. 1 cup (250 ml) frozen, unsweetened raspberries, partially thawed

4. 1 cup (250 ml) frozen, unsweetened blueberries, partially thawed

5. 1 packet no-kilojoule sweetener, optional


How To Make It

- Blend almond breeze with strawberries and no-kilojoule sweetener (if using) until smooth. 

- Add raspberries and blueberries; blend until smooth. 

- Top with additional berries, if desired.

BERRY BLAST 3


Ingredients

1. 3/4 cup Greek yogurt

2. 1/4 cup Almond Milk

3. 1 scoop 100% whey isolate protein powder

4. 1/4 cup raspberries

5. 1/4 cup blueberries

6. 1/4 cup blackberries

7. 2 slices fresh pineapple canned works too

8. 1 banana

9. 5-6 ice cubes


How To Make It

- Blend all until smooth

QUICK NOTES


· You can substitute your milk of choice (regular, coconut, almond etc).

· Instead of sugar or sweetener, you can sweeten with 100% pineapple juice (or fresh or canned pineapple)

· You can use frozen fruit instead of fresh but don't bother with the ice cubes.

· Use more milk if you want a thinner smoothie. This also depends on how much of your fruit is fresh or frozen.
